I have to apologize to HPY: this evening, when I was coming from work, I saw they put a sign there "salad to take for free" :)). two ladies were already taking advantage of the free veggies :))
yup, for free, but it's next to a main road, I don't know who would really eat it. but the place looked great decorated like that. they have one crazy idea like this every year :).

What a great use of space. Like the public veggie gardens in Manhattan during WWII! Except that they're decorations....
