watching the skies of Rome

Rome is indeed a city where you can easily get a pain in your neck. So many columns, high buildings, wonderful skies all come together to make the poor tourist dizzy. Today, some examples. For more great skies, click HERE!

Pink Saturday on Sunday

I had no internet access yesterday, this is why I have the pink Saturday on Sunday. Nevertheless, I hope this will be fun for you too... These are out two cats, enjoying the rest of milk & food from the dog pot. It's already cold here, so we started feeding our dogs again with hot milk mixed with some bread or some dog food. When we bring the empty pot inside, it's the duty of the cats to pre-clean it :)!

sky watching day

Friday again? Amazing! Sky watching again. Oh, well, again... it's a way of saying. I'd rather say sky watching all the time. We are blessed with wonderful views in both our back and fron yards. These are the joys of living in the country. When we were living in the city I had no clue when the sun was up or down. And I also had no clue what beauty I was missing.
But now, let's share: the sunrise from my back yard, and the sunset from my front yard.
Happy Sky Watching!

Watery Wednesday in Rome

Fontana di Trevi was a kind of legend in my family: back in 1984, when comunism was still very strong in Romania, and the chances to leave the country for a holiday were almost impossible, my favourite aunt had the chance to travel to Italy, and from there to Portugal, and further on to Angola. She sent me a post card from Rome, with a wonderful sight: a fountain with amazing statues. When she returned she told me stories about the city. So, you see, the first thing me & my better half visited in Rome was exactly this: Fontana di Trevi. I called my aunt from the spot and tell her where I was. She was delighted. And that postcard from the 80's... I still have it!

people - crowd as individuality

Do you like taking pictures of people? Maybe portraits? Or crowd photos? For me this was not a subject for a long time, than, after a discussion with Ratze (he is such a remarkable people photographer! ), I started taking a look at the people too, not only at the buildings. Sometimes I am shy, sometimes I do not post the portraits that I take, if I believe they are too personal. But definitely, the human faces are an infinite story to be explored. In Rome on the other hand, I found it difficult to take photos of individuals: the crowds were so homogenous mass, in a weird and twisted way, united in their goals, that they become a subject for themselves...

some on a hurry, some on a break

An Italian afternoon, in Rome. With pink table cloths for a pink Saturday! But beware, these restaurants are a tourist trap... :)

twilight mood

At lake Neusiedl, this summer. One of the most romantic places to see the sunset. And then enjoy a glass of wine at the Mole West - the trendiest place around.Happy Sky Watching!
