houses of New Orleans (2) - otra tranquilidad

And now would be the time for you to imagine a hot summer day, with all its tranquility and lack of sounds (others than birds humming), with all its strong light and soothing shadows. Now would be the time that you lean back, relax and imagine a porch and a chaise longue, a fruity cocktail included. Now would be the time that you take the luxury of being lazy in the middle of the week. After all, hey, tomorrow IS Friday!

houses of New Orleans (1)

Big. Small. Coloured or monochrome. Decorated or keeping it serious. The houses of New Orleans won't let you pass by and ignore them. They will pull your sleeve, grab on you camera and smile for the photo.

siesta

I found in Fuerteventura all what I expected and even more. Oh, well, to be honest, I actually didn't have any expectations, and this was for the better. I just discovered it step by step, enjoying the dryness, the desert, the squarish houses, the ocean shores, hidden behind the rocks. And I enjoyed the laziness, above all.
At the end of a dusty island road, we found a black sand beach and a group of houses, built so close together as if to protect each other against the wind or the ocean. No people were to be seen there. But many were on the beach. The smell of the calamari freshly fried in garlic still makes me drool. Heat from the sun, heat from the sand, heat on our skin. A jump into the ocean and then, the perfect siesta feeling...

beyond the fence

If you leave the main roads, Romania can prove spectacular. Rural and simple, like in the beginnings.

Romania, beyond the woods

Beyond the asphalt roads, there is another Romania to be discovered.

Little House on the Prairie

The stress lately strikes on my health. I am really tired lately, my system is upside down. Plus that stupid flu that is not entirely gone. I hope some vitamins will help.
In the meantime, here are some photos from the way back from Cluj. I was shooting through the train window, hence the poor quality. But I guess it makes up a funny collection of houses.
Have a great stressfree Wednesday!

living in colour

Danube Delta villages showed a poverty which we often encountered in our outer-city wanderings. still, in spite of this, they put colour on their houses. blue is the most traditional here.

bringing colour to the world

funny house- so pink in this grey village (don't mind S. saying that pink houses mean differently, it is just a plain simple living space this one). it is eye-catching and mind-striking to see how people started to paint their colours in very Mexican- like colours (I'm telling you, they saw this in the novellas they show on TV!).
