Pink Saturday: how sweet the pink

My pink post for the Pink Saturday features one of the Viennese landmarks: the sweets producer Manner - famous creator of the Manner-Schnitten (click the link). The photo above is the little Manner train in the Prater amusement park, and below is the logo of the flagship store in the Stephansplatz.
Again, this is a scheduled post, as I am currently offline in a holiday. Upon my return, I'll come and check out your pink posts!
Make sure to visit Beverly HERE or by clicking the pink logo above, if you want to see more cheerful pink posts. Happy Pink Saturday!

guest photographer: Ana M.F. and setting up a tent

Again a photo from my friend. In this trip they stayed in a tent. Please witness the process of creating a shelter for the night :). I am not really sure that they were really sure how to do this... but I was informed that they managed in the end (huge smile).
Happy Wednesday!

Neusiedler Stadtfest: Camera Critters with Camel (CCC)

Another CCC today: a camel that I spotted in the middle of the festival. For sure, people were all around. As a supporter of the animal rights, I always have my doubts when I see such a thing, but on the other hand, Austria is a country that takes care about its animals, so this one was not abused, or tired, or in bad shape. Maybe just a little bit bored... :)
Happy Sunday!

Pink Saturday: pink punk

These guys did not play any punk music. It's just me, looking for a pretty title for the post :). I wanted some pink photo, and I found this one, from one of the many concerts that took place at the Neusiedl am See City Festival. I am a fan of the lights on the stage, always looking cool. So this pink fascicle just fitted perfectly into the theme.
Happy Pink Saturday! More you find by clicking the small pink image/logo above. Thanks, Beverly, for hosting us!

Vienna: colourful

I have a passion for handbags - all shapes and sizes, all colours, they are never too many, just too less :). So there is no wonder my eye was caught by these colourful funky bags on Mariahilferstrasse in Vienna.
Happy Wednesday!PS: ... hence, I read this blog: http://www.onemorehandbag.blogspot.com/

Stadtfest Neusiedl am See - more photos

I think I will keep posting photos from the Stadtfest Neusiedl am See 2008, because they are too many, and too nice :), and I really liked being there. So here we go again, with some funny stuff this time: a head (scalp?!) massager. The people looked like enjoying it. And well, in spite of my promise to M. not to say that this was taking place in Austria (hihihi), here are the photos!
Happy week ahead!

Burgenland wine: the treasure room

Weinwerk: Here you can shop for wine, drink and listen to live music. They are the owners of a wonderful place (the pink bottles were find here), at first sight a little bit too glass & steel for the taste of the traditionalist wine lover. But once you get past this first impression you find a place to enjoy, a place where wine is at its best. (Link only in German). Happy Sunday!

Burgenland wine: pink & flavour

"Who loves not wine, women, and song, remains a fool his whole life long!" Johann Heinrich Voss
I found this great idea at Beverly's place, that is a Pink Saturday. Here is my contribution, in the shape of one of the most appreciated products of the Austrian region of Burgenland: wine. And here is where the wine comes from: another image of the vineyards around the Neusiedler lake.
Happy Saturday!

Austria: sky watch & sky watchers

Neusiedler Stadtfest: At first, when I saw the crane, I thought is for bungee jumping. But it was for sightseeing. I did not dare to climb so high, but the view must have been incredible. And this guy in Vienna, I guess he was watching the eclipse (no, he wasn't sleeping :) ). Nice observation point.
Happy sky watch!
PS (but not less important): the above award I've got from Vienna Daily Photo, and I am really happy to post it and sent it to Lara, Meda M, Jackie, Sonia, Sandy, Leena, HPY, Alice in Singapore, Alice of Arradon & Louise!

Neusiedler See

A perspective over the lake Neusiedl and the vineyards on the hills next. A wonderful place, where you can also take the bicycle and make a tour around the lake.
Happy Thursday!

08.08.08 Sky Watch: Solar eclipse in Vienna

Last Friday (the first day of August) I witnessed in Vienna a partial solar eclipse. A great natural event, in the awsome Viennese scenery. Professional sky watchers quickly gathered in Heldenplatz, with telescopes and all, to enjoy the eclipse at the best. Now it's your turn to see this!
Happy Friday! (PS: nice date today, 08.08.08...)

Vienna: MQ/MUMOK

One of my favourite places: Vienna's Museums Quartier (click the link for more info). A trip here without at least a cup of coffee and few hours viewing an exhibition is no-can-do.

Above: the entrance from Mariahilferstrasse.
Below: inside MQ.
Clicking on the MUMOK & Museumsquartier labels below, you will see my other posts relatd to this topic.
The benches that you see have a different colour each year. This year they are sort of a lavender. Last year they were sort of beige (as you can see in the picture below).A great place to sit and relax, have a refreshing drink, read something and get a real feeling of the ongoing cultural events.

a little bit of Austria, too: Stadtfest Neusiedl am See

The Harley Davidson week is less than a month away. I am already roaring, and I think I'll start the countdown soon :). The tight leather trousers are already prepared in the wardrobe in Austria (checked them out this past weekend). The bike is still sleeping in the garage, but not for long. Till then, here you have a bit of Austrian town festival.
Happy Wednesday!

Here they are, a walking (?!) table and chair. For sure you get scared when all of the sudden they start moving :)!
No festival without a little bit of rain :)...
