Kaiserschmarrn

One of the best things to eat in Austria: Kaiserschmarrn (click for the recipe). Next to a Melange, is a wonder! This is an archive picture, taken in Cafe Residenz @ Schoenbrunn Palace. Dedicated to my friend Andreea whose guide to Vienna I was last spring.

  1. Lara, thanks for your kind words at my blog. This looks yummy! Wouldn't you like to be a food photographer and be able to sample everything after the pics?

  2. KAISERSCHMARRN!! Yum!

I make this dish every year as our Christmas brunch! I love it.

I have to say, I've been creative with it, too. I have savory and sweet versions I make. The savory usually involves replacing the currants and rum with bacon and cheese. Very good! And topped with maple syrup is especially yummy.

I'm sure you're appalled, but Kaiserschmarrn--in all its variations--is the best!

Just routine test in every year, nothing else, but now I could eat those both servings! thanks!!
