Good Monday morning! A little bit confused by the summer hour, here I am before starting my office work. Today we are in Rust, another wonderful place in the Burgenland. Famous for its architecture, but also for its impressive number of storcks gathering here for the warm season, Rust is a constant tourist attraction, this also due to the fact that the locals know how to "use" the image of these wonderful creatures.
PS: do not read the name in English... has nothing to do with "rusty pipes", for example :))

robot attack!
An alien robot attack?! Oh, no, actually these are some cute little lamps in the same location as in the previous post.
Have a great Saturday!

Roemersteinbruch
Hi everybody!
Thanks for your nice wishes, I hope this time of year was great for you too. I had a wonderful Easter, meet my family and saw some wonderful places in Austria.
Here is the presentation of my Easter weekend: we start with the old Roman stone mine in St. Margarethen.
This is still in use and gave the world among others, stone for the Vienna's Stephansdom.
Moreover, is a great place for opera shows in summer.
And offers a wonderful view of the Neusiedler Lake.

Easter wishes
Easter comes! To all of you who celebrate it together with us, all the best wishes! The same best wishes to all those who do not celebrate it with us, too! I'll be back on Tuesday, hopefully with more photos!

post 300!
Since everybody is celebrating some figures, here is my turn: post 300!
For this post, a picture from the same area: towards Gura Teghii, via Nehoiu. Peaceful places. Places with no name plate. Hard to find on the map, too. But what a wonderful view unfolding downhill, as we drove through the forest!
My health still a mess.

solid rock faith
Good Monday morning! I had a sleepless night, because apparently flu is all over me again, for whatever reason. My head aches, my throat is beyond sore, and I still have to work.
To reach here you need a nice 4x4, although to much of my surprise (as always), I have seen plenty of old Dacia 1300 making their way up.
Nevertheless, as I mentioned some parts of Buzau last time, here I come today with a map and two photos. The colours are not too great since the light was rather grey, but the rock formation is worth the posting.

the first ones
These are the first flowers I saw in the mountains this spring. Somewhere past Gura Teghii (more photos to come, it's a spectacular area). I need to post some maps I guess... Anyways, happy weekend! Enjoy the sun and the warm weather!

melancholy
Although I am not melancholic at all, since weekend is coming and maybe I get the chance to relax a little bit.
The picture is from Lake Amara, same Ialomita county. Once it was one of the famous rheumatology facilities. They try so shy to revive it nowadays.
Wishing you a great Friday!

against PET & plastic bags
...I mean, mainly against stupid people throwing these wherever...
Don't look for photographic value here, look only for how we destroy our land.
Near Amara, Ialomita county, Romania. Shame!
PS: Herr Ratze, I got your point from yesterday... Hmmm, a very good point... Danke! Ich denke darueber nach!

rivers of salt
Good Monday morning! We are still in Buzau, still on the rivers of salt. Some pretty amazing views, right? Water coming right out of a stone, running down the valley, covering all in white. Too bad for the PET bottles left behind by some people unable to recognize the beauty and the unicity of the place...

rivers of...
Still very much hectic at work, but weekend is coming, and although I'll keep working, I plan lots of good sleep and some posting here.
If you go through my blog, back in 2006 you will find some similar photos. For the time being I'll let you guess what is the white stuff coming downhill...
Have a great Friday!
